The fine print
Property Lines is an early beta from Nomad Analytics. Updated 2 September 2026.
This is not a survey.
Boundaries come from public county and state GIS parcel data, which is maintained for
tax assessment rather than for establishing legal property lines. It is often out of
date, and its accuracy varies a lot by county. Nothing this tool produces establishes
a legal boundary. Don't use it to settle a dispute, or to site a fence or a structure —
for that you want a licensed surveyor. Treat every image as an illustration.
Use at your own risk
It's free, it's early, and it's provided as-is with no warranty and no liability on our
part. It will change, it may break, and it may lose data. Please don't make it the only
copy of anything you care about.
Your data
- We don't share it with anyone. We don't sell it, publish it, or show
your photos to other users.
- Without an account, what you save lives in this browser and is
deleted after 7 days. Uploads you never saved go on the same schedule.
- With a free account, it's kept until you delete it. Deleting removes
the boundary and the photo permanently — no hidden copy.
- We use your images and the boundaries you correct to improve the tool,
including training software to place boundaries automatically. That pair — your photo
and the boundary you fixed by hand — is the most useful thing we have for teaching it.
You keep ownership of your photos. If you'd rather not take part, please don't upload,
and tell us, because if enough people say so we'll build a proper opt-out.
- We use Railway, Supabase, Resend and PostHog to run the service, and your address
lookups go to public geocoding and county GIS services to fetch the parcel.
- We count how the tool gets used, with PostHog. It records that
something happened — a page was opened, a lookup found a parcel in a particular
county, a boundary was saved — against an anonymous ID. It does not receive your
email address, the addresses you look up, or your photos. We use it to see which
counties people actually need and which parts of the tool get in the way.
Please don't
Upload photos you don't have the right to use, or script the tool around its rate limits —
those exist to protect the public county GIS servers we depend on, which are run by other
people and can cut us off.
